The development of functional paper provides a new field for paper packaging. The term "functional paper" refers to a special paper suitable for packaging. Since the price of its raw material is not higher than the other packaging raw material, but it has the advantages of flexible workability, therefore, the products may be substituted for packaged products previously identified as having environmental contamination problems. Simple retro, using paper packaging used by the ancestors, that is a backward step. In addition, common users have a misunderstanding that paper is harmless. But ordinary paper and cardboard are also stored in a certain degree of "harm" oozing out. For example, from all kinds of adhesives will be eluted out of formaldehyde and fluorescent agents, and the paper bleaching process will produce "toxic" chlorine dioxygen, etc.
Classification of functional paper:
1. Protection function. For example, prevent dampness, corruption, oxidation, static electric fine bacteria, light and other energy.
2. Cancel function. Examples include the removal of smell, water, and impurities.
3. Resistance function. Such as fire resistance, water, oil, acid, friction, damage, impact, and other functions.
4. Sensing function. Such as sensitivity to temperature, humidity, and water.
In the board packaging, the most important is the following kinds of paper.
1.Uncoated cupstock: it can touch food directly and has good edge permeability.
2.Food grade ivory board: for example, GCU/FVO, is widely used in all kinds of packaging that are directly in contact with food and social packaging, such as maternal and child skin-friendly products, feminine products, personal hygiene products, solid food packaging, medicine boxes and daily necessities (milk powder, cereals), etc.
3.Biodegradable paper board: it is food grade paper with biodegradable coating, such as PLA/EPP/OPB, etc. It is an environmentally friendly paper packaging material and does not take long to be completely decomposed by biology.
4. Kraft paper/board: It can be divided into food grade(use for food wrapping and cupstock) and normal grade(use for carrying bags).
5.Folding box board(FBB): industry ivory board, mainly used for printing area, such as single side color printing, then make cartons which are used for packaging, or used in the design, manual products.
6.C2S art paper/ art board: It is a copperplate base paper coated with white paint made of advanced printing paper. The paper is uniform and compact, with high brightness (over 85%), smooth paper surface, high gloss, good dimensional stability, high tensile strength, and surface strength. There are single-sided coated paper, double-sided coated paper, matte coated paper, and embossed coated paper. Mainly used for the book cover, clothing/shoe tag, sticker, trademark, and paper bags.
7.Offset paper/ woodfree paper: It can be divided into super white color, natural white color, cream color, and yellow color. Mainly used for printing books, computer stock form, notebooks, cash register roll, direct mail, newsletter, letterhead, etc.
